Mentoring the Next Generation of STEM Racing Talent

Design Mentorship & Creative Development
Collaborating with STEM Racing Saudi Arabia – Jeddah Hub has been one of the most meaningful projects in my journey as a product designer. The experience allowed me to combine industrial design, visual communication, and mentorship to help students transform their engineering ideas into professional competition-ready projects.
My Role
As a design mentor, I worked closely with the student teams to enhance the visual quality and presentation of their projects. My responsibilities included:
Developing high-quality 3D renders and product visualizations.
Refining presentation boards and competition deliverables.
Supporting branding and visual identity development.
Improving visual storytelling to communicate technical concepts clearly.
Providing design feedback throughout the development process.
Mentoring students on design thinking, presentation skills, and professional communication.
Throughout the project, I guided students in translating complex engineering concepts into clear, engaging visuals. Together, we refined every aspect of the presentation, from realistic renders and layout design to branding consistency and storytelling.
Competition Results
The hard work and dedication of the students led to outstanding achievements at the National STEM Racing Competition:
YLA Team – Winners of the Best Project Management Award.
BAZ Racing Team – 2nd Place Overall among all Saudi teams, in addition to winning the Best Verbal Presentation and Best Digital Media awards.
These accomplishments reflect months of collaboration, creativity, resilience, and continuous improvement.
Seeing the students grow throughout the competition was one of the most rewarding aspects of this project. By strengthening their visual communication and presentation skills, they gained greater confidence in showcasing their ideas to judges and industry professionals.
This experience reinforced my belief that effective design is more than creating attractive visuals, it is about communicating ideas, solving problems, and enabling innovation.
