Branding a Sustainable Material Brand

BRANDING

KNOW MORE

Leefi is a future-focused material brand dedicated to transforming unused palm tree waste into a sustainable, leather-like alternative. The branding project aimed to build a clear, confident identity that communicates innovation, environmental responsibility, and regional relevance, while remaining modern and globally competitive.

THE CHALLENGE

Sustainable materials often struggle with perception: they are either viewed as overly experimental or visually generic. The challenge with Leefi was to create a brand identity that:

  • Feels premium and trustworthy

  • Highlights innovation without alienating traditional markets

  • Reflects its origin in palm waste and regional context

  • Is flexible enough for product applications, packaging, and future collaborations

Brand Concept & Strategy

The name Leefi is inspired by natural fibers and growth, referencing the raw material source while remaining short, contemporary, and brandable. The identity balances nature and technology — organic origins paired with clean, confident design.

The brand strategy is built on three core pillars:

  1. Sustainability with Purpose – Waste is not reused as an aesthetic trend, but as a functional, scalable solution.

  2. Material Innovation – Leefi positions itself as a material-first brand, not just a product brand.

  3. Modern Regional Identity – Subtle references to palm trees and Arabic typography ground the brand culturally without becoming literal.

Typography

Typography plays a key role in expressing Leefi’s confidence and clarity. The system combines:

  • A bold, modern display type for headlines and key statements

  • A clean, readable body type for technical and informational content

  • Arabic and English typefaces to support bilingual communication and regional relevance

This typographic hierarchy ensures consistency across brand touchpoints while allowing expressive flexibility.

Logo System

The logo is minimal and adaptable, designed to work across digital platforms, material samples, packaging, and embossed applications. Its simplicity ensures longevity and strong recognition while allowing the material itself to take visual priority.

Color Palette

The color palette is derived from natural elements associated with palm trees and earth-based materials. Muted greens, warm neutrals, and soft organic tones reinforce the sustainable narrative while maintaining a premium feel.
