Crafting Heritage Through Contemporary Design

SARTK ARTISTRY

This collection represents my exploration of Saudi heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary product design through a diverse range of objects, furniture, lighting, games, and packaging.

Across these projects, I worked on developing products that translate elements of Saudi culture into modern, functional, and visually refined designs. Each piece began with research into regional identity, traditional patterns, materials, architecture, and cultural details, which were then reinterpreted through a contemporary design language.

A key part of the process was finding the balance between heritage and innovation. Rather than reproducing traditional elements directly, I focused on simplifying, transforming, and reimagining them to create designs with a distinct contemporary identity while preserving their cultural essence.

From concept development and visual research to form exploration, material selection, 3D modeling, and presentation, I worked across the different stages of the design process. Materials such as ceramics, wood, brass, stainless steel, stone, velvet, and natural materials were considered according to the character and function of each product.

The collection reflects my approach to product design: using culture as a source of inspiration while creating objects that belong naturally in the present. It is an ongoing exploration of how Saudi identity can be expressed through thoughtful forms, materials, patterns, and everyday experiences.
